Collective Current was a group show that featured current and former members of The Dooryard Collective just as the group was celebrating it’s 10th anniversary in the same space where it all began. The exhibit was held at Mechanics’ Hall in Portland in October of 2017 and featured mixed-media artist Karolyn Greenstreet (show coordinator), puppeteer Kat Saunier, jeweler Stacia Salvucci, performance artist and sculptor Kaitlyn Hunter, painter and collage artist Gibrian Foltz, painter Doug Von, print maker and illustrator Anna O’Sullivan, oil painters Tyler Dickow and Michael Holt, graphic artist Lucas Greco, and writer/educator Andy Fersch. Collective Current sought to spotlight the importance of preserving affordable work space for artists in our quickly changing urban areas and demonstrate that diversity of artistic practice creates meaningful community dialogue.
